My Scam Experience with Wanderworld Travel Job Offer
I was in search of a work from home job and got an email from Wanderworld Travel that was offering me a job which paid $3000 month. I assumed it to be a commission-type job, like being a travel agent or so, so I took my chance.
If worst came to worst I must leave it first to avoid failing my clients if it wasn’t legitimate. The very first thing they let me do was to go and cash a cheque, take off five percent off the total amount and then wire the balance to another country. That triggered major alarm bells, but I didn’t wish to act precipitated.
I only knew one person that fitted the description of a top banker that I needed to help me. People often give up too quick; after doing some inquiries, the phone was made to the company from which the cheque was alleged to be from, and the cheque number disclosed had never been issued.
The bank advised me to keep the check and change my account details. Meanwhile, the scammer kept asking about the check, but I wasn’t sending any money back.
